Empirix vMSP is the latest evolution of the Empirix probe system. It provides all of the same capabilities of the legacy MSP hardware appliance, but runs as software on virtual machines in both Private and Public Clouds. This is important because Digital Transformation initiatives are driving Service Providers to actively move from static physical appliances to highly virtualized and dynamic environments. NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) will be a key enabler for this transition and Empirix’s solutions are well positioned to support NFV.
Empirix announced today that a 3-year contract with a Tier 1 North American telecom operator was recently signed for $19M USD to improve the quality of performance of the operator’s mobile voice, VoWiFi and VoLTE networks, to score and increase customer experience satisfaction, and reduce OpEx related to mean-time-to-repair (MTTR).
2013 has been a year of ginormous communications changes, from the mind-blowing growth of smartphone usage to the game-changing addition of WebRTC. Organizations have been increasingly focusing on improving customer service, recognizing that while voice is still king, customers need to know that they can reach companies in other ways too, like through social media or video chat or instant messaging. Big data has made it possible to begin anticipating issues and improving and personalizing communications.
The more widespread the adoption of Unified Communications across a company’s internal and external audiences, the greater the benefits. But the first step is to ensure that the IP infrastructure has adequate resources to intelligently integrate all the required voice, video, and data sessions. UC systems must reach hundreds of thousands of endpoints and it is critical that every customer contact, whatever the mode, be straightforward and easy-to-use.
I’d like to share the top 10 issues Empirix has discovered while working with clients in the past 45 days. Hopefully these insights will help you think about your own communications environment and how it effects the customer experience.
Today’s communications environments are very complex. If you’re not monitoring your systems on a consistent and constant basis, you will undoubtedly run into trouble. At the same time, a comprehensive solution has to have a variety of functionalities in order to successfully monitor this type of environment.
In one recent test Empirix was involved with, callers were complaining about long connection times and poor voice quality during a storm. The company involved conducted a test of its SBC to better understand the origin of the issue. During the test process, the organization discovered that, while having a registration flood of 10,000 concurrent SIP registrations, SIP call setup time doubled. Moreover, jitter increased on the SBC.
PESQ is a testing and monitoring related acronym that stands for Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality. Typically pronounced “pesk,” it is used as a means for automating the assessment of speech quality in communications networks (Unified Communications, VoIP, etc.).
Now that you’ve completed infrastructure, SBC and IVR testing, let’s take a look at the last segments of the end-to-end test best practice: CTI Data and Routing testing, and Agent Desktop Integration. CTI Data and Routing Testing CTI Data and Routing testing measures the capabilities and accuracy of the link between your IVR system and […]
