Empirix today announced enhancements to the Hammer Gen6 Test Platform to provide, functional, stress and ongoing testing for secure Avaya voice environments. The Empirix Hammer Gen6 test platform enables enterprises to examine latency, performance and voice quality over encrypted communication channels, resulting in truly secure communications. This new capability enables organizations to deploy with confidence secure communication networks for critical applications in verticals, such as financial, law enforcement, and healthcare, that use encrypted communications.
Given that approximately 60% of data breaches in 2014 originated from a source operating within the compromised organization, both contact center and enterprise communication networks are often prime targets for malicious employees or hackers.
The Empirix Hammer Gen6 Test Platform provides enterprises and contact centers with comprehensive communication encryption and device emulation capabilities for feature, functional, interoperability and stress testing of applications and networks. With these capabilities, enterprises can confirm compliance with regulatory requirements and measure:
- Performance of encrypt/decrypt functionality
- Media resource utilization and interoperability
- Voice quality at peak call volumes before deploying their solutions
“Our unique approach to testing secure environments gives our customers the ability to perform both encrypted and non-encrypted performance measurement and voice quality analysis while enabling intrusive negative testing to ensure detection systems are behaving as designed,” said Jeff Dell, Product Manager of Test Automation at Empirix. “Empirix continues to add critical capabilities to its industry-leading Hammer Gen6 Test Platform and solution suite.”
The Hammer Gen6 Test Platform’s capabilities have earned Empirix the Avaya DevConnect Certification for the Avaya Aura Platform. This certification validates that Empirix interoperates with and emulates trunks and stations within test environments in the same manner as real phone sets or contact center agents resulting in true end-to-end testing.
The Hammer Gen6 Platform supports TLS/SIPS/SRTP as well as emulation of specific endpoints such as SIP and Avaya H.323 96xx series phones. By enabling the random generation of certificates or the import and configuration of hundreds of third-party certificates, customers can confidently test and deploy secure communications platforms that meet both security and compliance requirements without sacrificing performance or voice quality.
